Dunwoody is very nice for the Atlanta area it is a bit high.
Who am I kidding? Atlanta is a pricey place to live.
Try Newton County…Conyers and Covington are decent. AVOID PORTERDALE!!!
To buy or rent? Around $900+ for a decent one bedroom apartment and upwards of $350,000 for a home or condo.
It’s a pretty OK place to live. You have the Perimeter mall which has tons of shops and Maggiano’s and Garrison’s two very good restaurants. There’s a number of alright bars in the area. There’s an Alon’s, one of the area’s best bakeries.
It’s a little whitebread and cookie cutter but not a bad place to live at all.
It is expensive, however it is a good investment. Property values there have remained steady for at least 30 years. The residents are vigilant in keeping their town safe and clean. One of the few areas of GA that are truly a value. Next I would suggest Briarcliff area…outside the perimeter. IF you want closer to the city with a great neighborhood, that is the place to be.

Well, I would say it is a more upper class neighborhood, But I am only going by what CNN Money reported. See for yourself. There are surrounding cities that they also talk about.http://money.cnn.com/magazines/moneymag/bplive/2008/snapshots/PL1324768.html
